We took a picture with Wendi on the way to our car. She is so awesome and was just so full of information. You could tell she really cared and you were not just another room to her.
We went back to the same ER tonight (only because it's close to the house and he can't have his surgery if he's sick) He has an apple sized knot that has developed on the side of his neck which seems to be rapidly increasing in size over the last 48 hours. He can't swallow, can't eat, can't drink and breathing is starting to become difficult. These idiot doctors tell him they don't know what it is, so they are just going to send him home with some strong antibiotics.
After a few days passed, he was still in pain so we went to a specialist. Sure enough, he has a fracture and torn muscles that require surgery. (Scheduled for This Wed.)
My advice to you is...If you want to live, go to a different hospital.
If you need to go to the ER, PICK A DIFFERENT HOSPITAL!
If we have another baby, I will return to Baylor McKinney!
This hospital is the best I have ever visited. This was my first overnight stay in a hospital and I’m afraid they’ve made it impossible to come close to their standards for the others. The attention to my needs was 5 Star. Not one employee was rude or short with me and they diagnosed the problem and immediately had a plan for me to get better. 49 years ago this January I was born at Baylor downtown and now I prepare to discharge to a brighter future from Baylor McKinney. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!
This is such a great thing. The last thing you want to do is cook when you go home.
BEWARE. Here is the billing scam they tried to run on me. I call and verify they are in network with my insurance. I get there and a Physician's Assistant sees my child, not a doctor. After the visit, I get a bill from a doctor that never saw my child for $700 above the $300 my insurance company already paid the doctor. I call the hospital and they tell me although the hospital/ER is in network, the doctor is a doctor that is out of network, so I owe him addition $$. I believe all they did was take a look at the doctors on their roster, and found one that is out of network so they could bill me more. Since I never laid eyes on the doctor, how would I even know. BAD, BAD practice. This ER is taking advantage and rigging the billing system.
My husband is the PM of construction. He has a VERY high tolerance for pain. Watching him moan in agony and seeing his eyes well up with tears is a sure sign that he's in extreme pain. Not to mention the fact that you can't miss the bolder sticking out the side of his neck that's increasing in size as each hour passes. Obviously there's something wrong.
The ER at this Hospital seem to host a bunch of unprofessional, unsympathetic, unapologetic jaded doctors. Its sad and disappointing.
My Midwife sent me here for ketones in the urine. Labor and Delivery admitted me right away and started me on IV fluids. The nurses were all very friendly to me and made sure I was comfortable and not in too much pain. At one point I had to take a break from the IV fluids(after 3 bags) and requested that they cut the bag off so I could rest. They were completely understanding. I went in extremely dehydrated and was very fatigued. They discharged me 22 hours later and it's the best I've felt my whole pregnancy. Can't wait to deliver my daughter here.
The food was great and it was nice to not only have my meals but meals for my husband as well. When we were discharged, we were sent home with a 'celebration meal.'
We left the ER and never plan on returning. I did let them know before I left that because he was miss diagnosed last time we came and the blatant disrespect and lack of concern they showed this time, that I'd be notifying every news media source possible and file a law suit if anything happens to him.
My husband hurt his shoulder a month ago and was in excruciating pain. We came here to the ER... they took some x-rays then told him there are no broken bones, or fractures. They charged us $300 and sent him home with a broken sling (that we had to sew back together ourselves.)
My husband and I had our baby here 2 weeks ago. The staff (L&D) were terrific with preparing me for my C-section. My daughter came a day earlier than expected so I had to mentally prepare quick! After she was born we were moved to recovery then to our new family room. The nurses and patient techs were fabulous. We were able to bond and enjoy our new bundle of joy.
