Overall it was a fun place. We went late November, so we didn't expect to see many animals. Some trails are a bit rough for strollers, so just be wary. It was a great experience and we will probably come back again. We only did a couple trails this time around, so we have much more to explore.
Went here with a group of friends and all the kids. 5 kids and 6 adults and we ended up making a full afternoon of it. The primary thing was to see the dinosaurs, but there ended up being so much more for the kids to do. The museum isn't huge, but the types of items that they have had the kids jumping from exhibit to exhibit with excitement. Seeing dinosaur fossils mixed in with snakes and a few other animals kept them engaged. When we made it out to see the dinosaurs they were all excited to see some of the ones they knew as well as some that they didn't. The fact that they moved and did different sounds kept them excited. We stopped for a quick snack after they played in the village and got a chance to see white tail deer up close as well as a few other animals. Even after walking about a mile, the kids were ready to drag all of the parents down another trail to see what they could find. All in all a great time and a very reasonable price for a full afternoon of fun. I would recommend packing a snack for the kids and take advantage of one of the many areas to stop and enjoy it and nature.
We came here and we didn’t see anything animals - nothing natural about this place except trees. So we spent 30 bucks to just see animatronics dinosaurs. You could spend few dollars more and take kids to zoo. They will have better service experience.
Great way to get the family expose to nature and to learn new things. Interesting exhibits, kids enjoyed seeing Live dinosaurs the most.
Wonderful birding and nature trails. My husband and I have been birding at Heard for many years and the trails never disappoint. It's lovely to see so much habitat preserved and lovingly tended. A real gem in our suburban world.
